Frequently Asked Questions...

General...

Are you open to Commissions?

Yes! I love creating custom works of art - please have a look at my Commissions page for more information!

I would like to stock your work. Do you have wholesale/trade pricing?

Thanks for considering my work! I always enjoy connecting with new potential stockists. Please send me an email with a little bit about you, your shop or gallery, where you are located and what products you are interested in. I will get back to you as soon as possible and supply you with the appropriate information.

Can you help me choose a painting or photo print... Maybe for a gift?

We would be delighted to help advise you! Tell me what you are looking for (or who you are shopping for!) along with a little bit about the space where the piece/s will hang. If you have one, even shoot me a photo of your room and colour scheme...

Do you offer Gift Vouchers?

We can issue Gift Vouchers for Sharon Millar Art to any denomination you wish. Please contact me to arrange this.

Art + Photography...

How long have you been painting?

I have been painting all my life, and am entirely self taught in both photography and painting. You can read a bit more about me, my background and inspirations, right here...

What medium do you paint in?

I primarily use enamel paints and metallic inks. You can see a bit more of my painting process right here...

Why do you use enamel paint?

I love the gloss effect and deep vibrant colours you can get from commercial enamel paint! On a practical note, it dries a lot quicker than other paints - such as oils (which take up to six months!) - which is essential for me, due to the demand for paintings I create and sell. Enamel paint also doesn't show brush marks, which means I can achieve effects like marbling and soft diffused edges which work so well with my subject matter...

From an archival point of view, enamel paint doesn't fade in direct sunlight and it's extremely hard wearing and durable once dry.

Tell me about your canvases?

I use various sizes of pre-stretched 100% cotton canvas box frames.

Can you create a custom photo montage, just for me?

Yes, I would be delighted to work with you on this. Send me an email with more details and I will get back to you!

Can you create a photo montage for me with my own images?

Absolutely! Tell me more!

That's great, you can make me my own memory montage! Now, what are my options?

Once you have sent me a selection of your favourite photos and snaps, I will set about designing your memory montage. This can be focussed on whatever is most important to you - home, family, favourite places, landscapes, beaches or landmarks - or a mixture of everything!

Stylistically, you can choose from Modern (bold, contemporary, colour reductions), Monochrome (black and white) or Traditional (colour) and your memory montage will be completely customised and unique to you!

How are your photographic prints printed?

All photographic prints are printed on to beautiful heavyweight Canon 300gsm fine art paper. We use Canon original high yield inks - a 7 colour process - which are guaranteed against fading for 70 years.

All our mounts are textured and off-white in colour, and cut from white-core mount-boards which will not yellow with age. Custom or unusual shaped mounts are available upon request.

I have another question...

That's no problem, I would be happy to help! Please send me a message via the contact form, and I'll get back to you asap.
